Fabric Photo Backdrops Getting Red Carpet TreatmentÂ
Lately we’ve been printing a lot of large SEG Fabric Graphics that are being used as photo backdrops for special events. The imagery printed on these backdrops usually consists of logos laid out in a simple step and repeat format, the same backdrop style that’s seen on the Hollywood red carpet and other large media events. Because photos from these events often circulate through social media outlets, the backdrops act as a branding tool that lives beyond the event itself.
Our backdrop graphics are printed on a slightly stretchable fabric using a dye-sublimation process. A thin silicone strip is sewn around the perimeter of the graphic that fits into a groove in the corresponding SEG frame. Once inserted into the frame, the fabric graphic displays smooth and seamless, which is necessary for quality photo backdrops.
SEG, short for Silicone Edge Graphics, is emerging as the top choice for photo backdrop applications over traditional solutions such as vinyl, rigid substrates and hop-up stands. SEG fabric has a tight, non-reflective appearance that is unrivaled by these alternatives. This is highlighted in the photo comparison above. You can see that the fabric backdrop is smooth and non-reflective, while the vinyl is not.
The free-standing SEG Frames that display the fabric backdrop assemble quickly and don’t take up much space. This combined with the fact that fabric can be folded tightly, the backdrop system is more economical to store and re-use in the future.
